It's a good point Joe makes in this one. I wonder if Elly could have friends where there was no coffee involved. Could this be the reason the relationship with Carol Enjo failed. Did she say, "No. I prefer tea from Japan."?

I think you might be onto something. I can imagine this being a dealbreaker for Elly.
