Oh, so many words to fill in the blank!
This one struck me funny, until I realized the style was a little different. Usually Joe's sarcastic remark is in the final panel with Emmy's "HATE" after Emmy has had 2 panels of explaining her strange behaviour.
That does, sadly enough, sound like a conversation they'd have.

Ha, yes, I changed it up! Hope that didn't remove the "funny," though. (Curiously, the First Yammersons strip gave Joe the first line, but since then, I've generally followed the Emmy/Emmy/Joe/[hate] pattern.)
