It's always all about the shopping with Elly

This is the strip that should have run; it's geared to a present-day sensibility and outs Elly as an impractical idiot more efficiently.

Thanks, dc2. :)

Well, it may out Elly as an impractical idiot. However, I have known many women (and some men), who delighted in the opportunity to go back to work, for precisely the same reason -- it gave them an excuse to buy a new wardrobe. If Lynn Johnston had run your strip and not the one she did run, then not only would we have not gotten Anne's bizarre comment about changing uniforms (Who would say that?), but a strip to which a lot of women could relate. In other words, FOOBar is not only covering plot points that Lynn Johnston missed; but is actually doing a For Better or For Worse-style strip better than Lynn Johnston.

Thanks, howtheduck. I'm totally contacting you a blurb if I ever do a book. :)

I've enjoyed shopping for "work" wardrobes, but never has that happened for a job that's only going to last a week!
