Joe's dialogue in Panel 1 should probably read "Now that you've proven youself unemployable, have you decided that not embarrassing yourself publicly is best for everyone?" Other than that, it's spot on.
Heh. Neither Joe nor John is direct enough to say that. :)
With pretty much any other couple in the world, Joe's comment would be completely obnoxious, mean, inappropriate, arrogant, etc. etc. Lots of people go back to school as adults and do a great job at it.
But this is Elly/Emmy, so John/Joe is right.

Joe and John know them too well.
One other things I find so amusing about "The Yammersons" is how creative you are at changing nothing but the dialog in the 3 large word balloons (it always ends with Elly's thought-bubble of "hate!") - but it always is utterly hilarious in the context of FBoFW.
BTW, don't worry if the strips aren't in perfect publishing sync with Lynn's reprints. If they appear within a few days or a week or so of each other, the derived satire is still quite obvious. :)

Thanks--I do get a special kick out of the times where I manage to sync them up exactly, but I know I can't expect that to happen every time I try. :)
