Elly, it's called picking up as you go, and getting the whole family to do so!

This is the strip I'd originally planned to post on Friday, 1/2/09, but delayed to sync up better with the repeats.

I wanted to have some fun with visual details, but unfortunately the tags in the left, bottom of the panel ended up too small to read. They are--moving from back, left to right, front: "fauxley poo, $9.95" and "plush toy, order today!" The other visual bits should be detectable to the naked eye. :)

That's a lot funnier than the original interpretation of events. It also explains a lot about the family dynamics. John would rather the place be a mess than have the cops break up a domestic disturbance.

And he's also got the most self-serving interpretation, which I figured was in-character. :)

Oh, yeah. He's using Elly's craziness as an excuse to slack off. That is SO John.

I see the Choco-bits and the coffee cup says, "Cowfed Squalor(?)". I am not so sure about the coffee cup. I do like the timeless calendar indirect comment on the time of the strips. The other item on the floor looks like an apple core, which can't be right. Do Pattersons eat fruit?

howtheduck, the mug is supposed to say "Cawfee Squawk"; I guess that got a bit small, too. In the right-hand segment, the bottle that is dribbling onto the floor has what is supposed to be a skull and crossbones, so Elly is allowing generic comic poison to leak onto her floor. Apple core is correct--maybe a vestige of the "Eat Thin" program(me). And I pointed out in my entry the plush toy and the fauxley poo. Other than that, the detritus you see is pretty much replicated from the original. :)

LOL, I love this! *right-click, saves*

I love the fauxley poo! It would be funny if everyone thought the stuffed dog was real and treated it as such, while the real Farley has gone Cujo on the neighborhood...

Thanks, Destroyer of Worlds. I could definitely see the Pattersons favoring the plush toy. After all, he doesn't need to eat or poop or other inconveniences. ;)

I'm starting to love the "Joke of the day" ones here much better than at the real comic. Another one that made me laugh!

The Farley toy in your drawing is cuter than the real toy.

Thanks for the compliments, Timothy and Muzition. :)
