Note: I will be away on a work trip Thursday through Saturday this week, so my commenting is likely to be sporadic. Never fear, though--Friday's strip is already uploaded and scheduled to self-post. :)
One moment, the foobs were in a teal-and-lavender monstrosity of a wedding, and the next they were propelled back into the past. But it was a different version of the past. What happened?

Well, you said I'd be typing "Leave it to Elly to not get why people are angry despite being told why" and here I am doing it. It's as if she's totally stupid or something.

You might want to record that line as a macro, as it will come in handy again. :)
You know, Elly really is a lot of fun. You can say almost anything about her and not feel bad about it. Watch.
"Wow! Elly is such a dense, insensitive, borderline filicidal waste of human effort!"
See? I feel just fine.

There is something rather liberating about that. :)
That's Elly for you. Completely missing the point.
Interesting that she brings up Meredith and Robin, but has to be reminded about Abby and Francoise. I'd wonder if she had any regrets about leaving the former behind, but let's face it: even if she DID think about them (which seems unlikely), she probably thought Michael and Deanna would get together in her new fancy-dancy timeline and have the exact same kids and all. Or justified wiping them from existence with some minor offense, like Robin having to use a hearing aid.
You could beat her over the head with the sheer wrongness of her actions and she still wouldn't get it. So how are they going to deal with her while fixing the mess she made? How are they going to prevent Elly from finding some other way to screw things up?

We'll just have to wait and see, won't we? If I had my way, they'd leave her trapped in this past without any sort of company and check her into Arkham Asylum North.
"Psst! Elly! Da Joker's plannin' a riot! We're gonna be runnin' this place, and then we storm Gotham! You in?"
"Well, just so long as it's not too complicated... will I have to wear clown makeup?"
Anonymous: Elly does seem to assume that Mike and Dee will couple, marry, and produce Merrie and Robin all over again. When she accidentally altered the timeline by having Meredith move away too early, she brought her back after realizing that her premature departure could prevent them from getting together during university.
Joe England: clown makeup is completely optional. :)

More interesting, it would seem that (in this foefic) that Elly would rather have Liz marry someone else (or stay single).

Or, more likely, figured that everyone who DIDN'T go back with her just no longer existed, because the time that passed would have no longer have passed. So...no time passed, no bothersome brat named April (or Robin, Meredith, Abby, etc.)

Which meant she'd have blithely dismissed the warning that said otherwise even if she did actually read it.
godozo: Yes, Elly seems to have believed that what she was doing was like cranking back a big "time" dial and that anyone who hadn't been born yet just hadn't been born yet.
