One moment, the foobs were in a teal-and-lavender monstrosity of a wedding, and the next they were propelled back into the past. But it was a different version of the past. What happened?
Connie did eventually reach a point where I really liked her character, precisely because she was the only character (aside from Grandpa Jim) who would tell Elly she was acting like an idiot. My guess was that this was a common characteristic in Lynn's writing because she made Liz's roommate be Candace Halloran, who filled the same kind of position for her.
Sadly, at the end, Lynn Johnston decided to defang both Connie and Candace. It is this version of Connie that shows up in the new-runs, who laughs with sticky-outy tongue to let us know that Elly has said something funny.
What you have here in FOOBar is a return to the old Connie, I used to love.

Ugh--yes. My least favorite iteration of Connie. :(

You go, Connie; tell that moron how big an idiot she is! Also, you go, April_Patterson,; tell Lynn how lazy she is!

I love giving Connie lines I wish she'd say to Elly. Instead of her being the sycophantic second-banana with the sticky-outy tongue laugh.

Thanks. :)
