One moment, the foobs were in a teal-and-lavender monstrosity of a wedding, and the next they were propelled back into the past. But it was a different version of the past. What happened?

Reliving vs. Retelling
LJ ran the "Michael inhales his food so he won't taste it strip" in July of last year--during the failed "hybrid" experiment--as well as yesterday. I'm pretending she hadn't dropped the "telling Meredith" frame.
No, it's not funny in the least. The look on his face tells me that when things get back to normal, a certain flapping honker is in for a hot little earful from her son about what a huffy, ungrateful jackass she is.
About the only safe haven that comes to mind is Captain Oblivious; let's hope that he can tear himself away from his trains long enough to try to take the weight for his lady.
What kind of sadist feeds their kids liver and spinach? I really have to wonder.
BTW, this strip is awesome and stands alone without your explanation about the hybrid. Even if a person had never read the hybrid strip, it wouldn't matter because of the way you wrote it. Kudos! That is a subtle and crucial skill for a serial cartoonist, to be able to "catch up" and entertain a reader who didn't see every strip. You're very good at this.
While I love your text-heavy strips for the snark value, it's ones like these that show you have talent for strip writing in general.
Ooh! I never thought about the hybrid and the rerun in quite that way! Mike was narrating the "memory" to Meredith the first (second?) time around. *bows bows* here's to your awesome use of Lynn's material!

Yes, I think she's in for lots of whup-ass, from many directions.

Thanks for the encouraging words, qnjones. :)

Ooh, I forgot...so Mike finally gets it now. Interesting. I wonder what he will do about his new awareness...
Thanks, Destroyer of Worlds--I'm glad something useful came out of Lynn forgetting which strips she's already reprinted. :)
I wonder what he will do about his new awareness...Not sure yet how this will play out, but I'm hoping it will be fun to figure it out....
