One moment, the foobs were in a teal-and-lavender monstrosity of a wedding, and the next they were propelled back into the past. But it was a different version of the past. What happened?
Ahhhhh!!!! This is getting more interesting by the day; Elly plain old forgot that she's dealing with people who have free will, didn't she? Once Connie realizes what's been done to her, the nutcase with the Foob Note will have powerful enemies in two timelines.
Isn't it great to be doing take-offs on old FOOB where Lynn Johnston used to actually show emotions and tell stories using facial expressions?
If you were doing modern FOOB, Connie would be several metres away and might not have an eye, or better yet, might not have an eye on the part of her head where you might expect an eye to be. That sort of thing made telling stories with facial expressions a little difficult.

Yes! This is something I'm really working on. In the second panel, I was trying to make Elly look evasive by looking away, but I don't think that comes across as successfully as Connie's look in the last panel. I was having a really hard time getting Elly in profile based on the strip that ran Saturday, since she was drawn so awkwardly. I ended up also referencing an old-run strip and sort of merging profiles, which also ended up with its own problems. That's why I'm noticing things like how oddly Lynn is drawing/not drawing Elly's neck in this arc.

::snerk: True. Faces are so much less expressive without eyes. :)

I am having a heck of a time writing the follow-up to this--I've discarded two scripts. But it'll come. :)
Connie's arched eyebrow. That's great. I love it.

Thanks--I had fun drawing that close-up. :)

Sloppier and sloppier by the day, I believe. Not only does Elly want to control "the present," she also wants to control "the past."
That girl is cruisin' for a bruisin'.
Not only does Elly want to control "the present," she also wants to control "the past."Yup. Plus short attention span--bad combination!
