It's just like I said; Elly learned absolutely nothing from the stereo arc despite going through it twice. This tells me that her attempt to screw April over will backfire hilariously.

Well, technically Anne stopped her from going through the stereo arc a second time--but you just know she'd still be lesson-free on the other end of it. ;)

Not appreciating frugality is the heart of the matter in the can opener/stereo strip sequence. I guess this will be the last Yammersons, and I will be sorry to see it go.

Me, too! That's why I made an excuse to do one more. :)

@ howard: I thought that arc was more about Elly complaining about not being able to play with John's new toy until he bought her off. And also both of them enabling and reinforcing each other's negative behavior: John's misogyny and Elly's insistence on blowing things out of proportion and focusing on the wrong problems.

At least FOOBAR ending here means poor Liz won't have to go through that "children are ungrateful brats and only get sick to cause their parents grief -- and not in the 'I care about my child so much that seeing them in agony makes me feel so helpless!' sense, either, but the 'Now I have to work HARDER, AAAUUGH!' sense" arc.

Although since that opening event didn't involve Elly, it might still have played out in some form with John and Liz... what a last note to leave their relationship in the past on, huh?
