The limits of gratitude

...Aaaaaand Lynn opted not to run the strip I'm referencing here.  Of course she did!  Grrr.  Anyway, it's ID #3973 at the foob catalog (using their "Search by ID Number" option).

And THAT, right there, is what this whole load of shit is all about. Elly can never, ever get enough praise.

That's a great reaction for this strip and apparently Lynn agreed, since she opted to not to run it.

Excellent! When reading from work, I have to run your site through Google Translate, which means that the image doesn't appear but the comments do, so I've been trying to guess what you drew. Definitely worth the wait. I'm positive Lynn knows about FOOBAR and is messing with your continuity because she isn't content just to mess with her own.

Thanks! :)

Fawning Interviewer: I noticed that you left out one of my favorite strips, where Connie Poirier is thanking Elly effusively for having cared for Lawrence during Connie's trip to Montreal. She caps that off by saying she can't thank her enough, and then Michael, with a disgusted look on his face, says that he thinks she's thanked Elly enough. Howcome you left that out of the strip?

Lynn: First off, I love the way you say "howcome" instead of "how come," though my mean editor prefers "how come." Anyway, the answer to your questions is that I just couldn't give that awful Katje woman the satisfaction!

Fawning Interviewer: [ . . . ]

If she ever followed through on writing a book, as she pretended to aspire to, it might be called No One Can Ever Thank Me Enough: I'll Tell You Why. ;)

She can hardly believe her younger self ever let it through.

Though I wonder if it was meant as a dig against Connie, whose OTT expressions of gratitude might have been an overcompensation for her neglect/self-absorption/relentless pursuit of a may-unnnnn. OTOH, Lynn and Elly both apparently saw nothing wrong with six-year-olds being allowed to open their front door, walk out, and wander freely throughout the town without adult supervision.

Interesting. The way I read this strip, it's almost as if Lynn's beginning to get peeved over the people in her life not being thankful over her dragging them back in time to "correct the past." What an ungrateful bitch.

It's not hard for me to imagine her doing lots of grumbling over the ingrates in her life.
