One moment, the foobs were in a teal-and-lavender monstrosity of a wedding, and the next they were propelled back into the past. But it was a different version of the past. What happened?
Oddly enough, if my kids were good enough with language at age 6 to have done the pun Lawrence did, I actually would have been quite proud. With Lawrence though, it seems part of a more fearful destiny to be associated with a Patterson for years to come, and I feel pity for him.
Please note, that unlike the regular strip, you have addressed the reason why Deanna moved back. I wonder if the regular strip will ever do that.

Well, that's it, exactly. It's the "Patterson" context that lends it all a sinister quality.

I do, too. I was especially curious to see if that would be addressed in the strip immediately following the "Deanna" reveal. Since it wasn't--and not in the subsequent strips we have seen, I'm thinking it's likely not to be explained. OTOH, you really never know with LJ.

That's true. She's very fond of leaving things open without explanation. The classic case was when Anthony asked Elizabeth to wait for him to divorce his wife after the "I have no home!" strip, and then we didn't get to see her response. That moment was never mentioned again in the strip; but I remember how much I, at the time, wanted to know her answer.
The difference this time, is I know the future with Deanna. I already know the real answer why Lynn had Deanna move back. I find that my desire for Lynn to show Mike and Lawrence asking Deanna that question, has more to do with my expectation of good story-telling than anything else. It's strange that I would still have that expectation with this strip.

Well, Lawrence is spot on there; Elly is NOT paying attention to what's going on right under her mose and it is going to cost her in the long run.

Elly's short attention span has even been highlighted in the new-ruins. It explains so much.

We just keep hoping, don't we?
