One moment, the foobs were in a teal-and-lavender monstrosity of a wedding, and the next they were propelled back into the past. But it was a different version of the past. What happened?
Your son has excellent taste in titles. The big "NOOOOOOO!" is really appropriate here. Not only has Mike's nightmare become real, he's learned that John has no idea that this has all happened before despite his knowledge that no one wants to read war bride abuse porn. As for what they're eating, is it the new and improved version with flavor?
apologyhat, in my mind, Michael did write Stone Season the first time around, though it would make sense, I think, for him to have been heavily influenced by Elly's predilections. Also, I think he stole heavily from the life story of his old landlady from his college/university days, Agnes Dingle.
Elly is based off Lynn and in Lynn's background, she knew British WWII war brides. It makes much more sense for this story to have come from Elly / Lynn than 30-year-old Michael Patterson.

Yes--I almost mentioned LJ having said she'd known British war brides in British Columbia. But since, in the strip itself, Mike had known one and Elly hadn't, in my memory, said anything about any--I stuck with Mrs. Dingle.
But that's just a long-winded way of saying "You're right." :)
I like to think Mike is screaming because all his fabulous future fame and fortune are going up in smoke. Maybe now Elly will get the improbable advances, and will lord her "wealth" over John, Mike, and Liz the way Lynn has done with her own family? Or would it be more fun to see Elly fail? I can't decide.
Michael may very well be adding one plus one.... Of course, since he's been demoted to preschool, he might have some trouble getting to two. ;)
Depends on how much Michael has been affected, I would think.

Which would seem to imply she had caused things to go backwards, or was a willing enabler. Personally I'd like to see FoobarElly fail here (To get the war bride abuse porn genre right, you have the wife outlive the husband and say "yes, it was worth it." At least that's my impression from the one Abused War Bride I know.)

That kind is probably too expensive. ;)
I like the way young Elly even managed to top the speed with which adult Mike could churn out a glurgey novel!
(I really have to do something to update my FOOBlog. This whole returning-to-work-after-maternity-leave thing is taking some getting used to.)
I like the different chows, although they are not quite as disgusting as "Sploit" soup.
So does this mean that Michael never wrote Stone Season? 'Cause I could totally get behind that.
Thanks, howtheduck. :)

DC2:
Are you sure it's because the nightmare's becoming real? I wonder if Mike was shocked into realizing he had been transported back in time.
