One moment, the foobs were in a teal-and-lavender monstrosity of a wedding, and the next they were propelled back into the past. But it was a different version of the past. What happened?
So, does this mean Annie remembers the past too? The only reason I can think of her to want to have affairs herself is because she knew what's going to happen and remembers she didn't have as much fun the last time.
I really wasn't thinking of whether Annie remembers--just picking up on the thread of the suggestion that the ONLY thing keeping her away from being a swinger is the 20 lbs.
What cracks me up is that the strip I used as a reference for this FOOBAR is probably the one that Lynn will run tomorrow. Ha, I scooped you, Lynn! ;)
Love it! Question: how does Elly get a "free hour"? Does she lock Mike and Liz in a closet? If so, I guess Anne is too responsible to do the same? :P
I think I would like the Nichols family story a whole lot better if, say, when Steve retired, he discovered that Anne had a whole secret swinger lifestyle and was actually getting more on the side than he was! "Of course I didn't divorce you dear; if I had to work, I couldn't go out with my 'friends' so often!"

At the "Coffee Talk" site, they've been doing a weekly "letter from Elly." This week's had her saying she had an hour/day available for exercise while Mike was in school and Liz was in daycare. :)
This "free hour" crap just shows you how out of touch Elly is-- there is simply no reason why she can't have herself more "down time" than an hour a day- her husband can afford more than an hour of daycare. Mike can be baby-sat for two hours after school, etc. This is all about Lynn again trying to impress us by telling us what a martyr Elly was/is.
I wonder if Lynn Johnston even remotely comprehends that by putting those 2 strips back-to-back, what it makes it look like Anne's motivation for jogging is. Or is she just thinking, "Oh, Anne talks about losing weight. I can put that with the jogging strips."
howtheduck--it's hard to guess with LJ. At times, she does seem oblivious enough to think, "Oh, a weigh-loss reference. I'll use that to lead into the jogging strips.
At least I have these things spelled out in my version, eh? :)
Tell me about it--and it's extra creepy because it's as if Young!Elly is reaching across space and time--to ask for advice from the people on the internet that doesn't exist yet (at least in its current form). ;)

True--and as usual, these efforts backfire. 0_o
A weekly letter from Elly? That's way more than I could stomach! I didn't even read her monthly letters toward the end.
