OTOH, you really never know with LJ.

That's true. She's very fond of leaving things open without explanation. The classic case was when Anthony asked Elizabeth to wait for him to divorce his wife after the "I have no home!" strip, and then we didn't get to see her response. That moment was never mentioned again in the strip; but I remember how much I, at the time, wanted to know her answer.

The difference this time, is I know the future with Deanna. I already know the real answer why Lynn had Deanna move back. I find that my desire for Lynn to show Mike and Lawrence asking Deanna that question, has more to do with my expectation of good story-telling than anything else. It's strange that I would still have that expectation with this strip.howardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16303489266324639466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4115958760816352341.post-39265767363337961792009-09-07T08:36:03.735-04:002009-09-07T08:36:03.735-04:00howtheduck:

It's the "Patterson" context that lends it all a sinister quality.

Please note, that unlike the regular strip, you have addressed the reason why Deanna moved back. Since it wasn't--and not in the subsequent strips we have seen, I'm thinking it's likely not to be explained.
